Abstract	The element that made Milwaukee different from the rest of the country though, was that through the amusement park experience, immigrants had their ethnic identity reinforced thus creating an early manifestation of ethnic pluralism. In other cities across the country during this same period there was more of an assimilation to an American culture taking place rather than encouraging people to hold on to their culture. Milwaukee businessmen seeing this, developed parks similar to those across the country, but helped encourage both a pride in their ethnic background and their new American home. So in essence, amusement parks in southeastern Wisconsin reflected an early manifestation of ethnic pluralism that was used by entrepreneurs to develop a successful business model by offering a wide range of entertainment, new technological advanced attractions, family friendly park layouts and easy access through transportation
